The weekend was a hectic one for QXFM; homecoming, carnivals, parades, iconic figures burning to a crop. We did find some time during the weekend, however, to make our way out to the Brazos Trails Cowboy Church for their event, “Playin’ in the Dirt”.
BTCC is just a few miles north of Downtown Weatherford, about a third of the way to Peaster. Not exactly a place where we imagined we would find a fantastic church, much less a congregation gathered having a great time.
The event itself was chock full of activities: Round Robin Sorting, Team Roping, Pasture Roping, Muttin Busting, to Dummy Roping for kIds. It seemed to be there was a little bit of everything for everyone, including a some great food from the BTCC Chuckwagon, which was serving up some real treats throughout the day.
While the competition events were taken maybe a little to seriously for our tastes, everyone was having a great time on and off the arena. From enjoying music provided by Branded by Grace, bouncing in one of the bounce houses on site, or enjoying the witty commentary of Michael White, Communications Team Leader at BTCC. We think we even saw some human roping going on at some point, in jest of course.
All in all, it was a great turnout for the Brazos Trails Cowboy Church, and one that we were very glad to be a part of. If you’ve never been to a Cowboy Church, or to the Brazos Trails arena, we suggest checking it out. It’s fun for the whole family, and you might even learn a thing or two!
A special thanks to Michael White, and all of BTCC’s Leadership for allowing QXFM to come partake in the day’s activities. We look forward to the next trip out to BTCC!
